Lux Mammoth were one of Western Australia’s first noise bands, a two bass dark ambient mix of low frequency and distorted samples, and exsited from 2000 until 2003. Thier performances shocked audiences with blood spattered surgeons outfits, miked up corpses and a variety of sound props from vaccum cleaners to power tools.
They developed some concept shows, based around tools (an entire sound scape of power tools, in the 2000 Artrage Festival) and corpse manuipulation (in In Its Own Blood, Putting On An Act Performance Festival, 2001).
Thier two albums are carefully crafted, rich soundscapes that will not dissapoint fans of bass and noise alike. There are also two video’s, which will be available free on bloodstarmusic.com soon.
